Bringing Porting Reviving retro games to modern consoles

Games Using Syrup

Syrup

EMULATION ENGINE

No source code? No problem!

Syrup is a feature rich cross-platform emulation engine for retro systems. It allows developers to interface with modern consoles like the PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch.

Syrup has a robust architecture which handles display, audio, controls, network, and addons, like trophies.  It consists of multiple emulators which are modified to be lightweight “plugins”.

Syrup boasts a wide array of features such as network multiplayer, trophy/achievement support, up-rendering, post-processing, and a scripting API to add entirely new improvements to old games such as gamepad rumble, remastered artwork, and widescreen.

Widescreen Support

See your games like never before with widescreen support for both 2D and 3D titles. Syrup provides an assortment of options ranging from gameplay-aware border illustrations to 3D frustrum aspect ratio adjustment to cutting edge and never-before-seen screen widening techniques.

Game Manual

Regain the charm of opening a new video game’s manual. We can’t offer the smell of fresh ink, but we can provide a gloriously glossy interactive manual with smooth-as-butter page flipping animations.

Netplay

Netplay provides games with the lowest imaginable latency, and supports online match-making, mixed local and online play, as well as options for private and public games.

Add options to relive the nostalgia of split screen, or modernize the experience with single-screen output for each player. You can even add helpful details like the local player’s hitpoints or ammunition.

Achievements

Lost your original source code? No problem. Our crack team of reverse-engineers can identify trophy hooks in the original game’s code in order to bring a triumphant smile to the player’s face when they’ve finally defeated the game in all 90 possible routes and difficulties.

Rumble

Syrup can provide your game with this quality of life feature, providing a more immersive experience for players as they kick, punch, chop, block their way to victory.

Once you’ve tried a retro game with added rumble, you can’t go back!
